A little bit of history.....
In 1977 after graduating from Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) in Marshall Minnesota, and having worked for only three months, I purchased the "Bike & Hike" store located on the West edge of town on Highway 68 from Al and Dee Luce. It was a small bicycle shop carrying Raleigh, Motobecane and Viscount bicycles and also sold quite a bit of cross-country skis in the winter months.
After several years, the business grew and we were able to build a new building and relocate our business across the street. In the early 1980's I purchased the remaining bicycle store in Marshall called "The Bike Shop" located on the corner of Main Street and College Drive (now the Landmark Bistro) and moved the inventory into our new building. The Bike Shop's former owners had just bought new signage giving us the opportunity to officially change our name to "The Bike Shop". Our bicycle inventory expanded with the addition of the popular Schwinn bicycles and a new line from "Trek". We also added a nice selection of high quality sunglasses from a company named "Oakley".
In 1986 we sold our building to Tim Swenson of "Action Sports" and moved "The Bike Shop" downtown to our current Main Street location, in the former Flash Electronics building. (We've been told it's the oldest downtown building in Marshall.)
For the past 30 years we've enjoyed serving the Marshall area and expanding our cycling and fitness store to meet the needs of the entire family. We focus on the individual in order to find the right fit, for the beginner or the seasoned athlete. The brands and styles have changed over the years but today The Bike Shop continues to offer the highest quality fitness equipment, bicycles and accessories, as well as expert service and repairs.

Chad
Chad is a graduate of Marshal High School, class of '89. He enjoys cycling with his wife, Deanna, and his daughter, Chloe. Chad also enjoys camping, fishing and NASCAR. Being a veteran in the bike industry--employed at The Bike Shop for over 22 years--Chad is well equipped in his role as a manager, which entails, but is not limited to, selling, ordering, inventory, bicycle repair, fitness equipment repair, commercial fitness sales and service, and employee relations.
Cody
Born: 7/24/80 Marshall, MN, Height: 6'1", Weight: 160
Cody is a graduate of SMSU with a BS in Exercise Science. He has 10 years of bike racing experience--mostly MTB--up to semi-pro category. Cody is the main shop contact for local organized rides (come in and see me to get on the list) He is also the main bicycle service and repair employee, with expertise in bike fitting.
